Private Pilot

What are my options for private pilot training?

As a student pilot, you have many options to start flying. Our goal is to make sure you finish! We have helped people of all ages earn their private pilot certificate. It is not uncommon for someone to come to us and say that they did training at some point in their past, but they didn't finish. Not flying consistently will inherently cause delays and likely increase your total hours to get you to checkride. For these reasons, we have set program prices and pay-as-you-go.

Guaranteed Private Pilot

This is a great option for those willing to fit 3-4 lessons a week into their schedule. This is a guaranteed program that does not have an hourly cap to your flight and ground lessons with an instructor. This is a tremendous benefit for the student pilot, since there will not be a stressor to complete their first solo at a specific hour or get checkride ready at 40 hours. However, our instructors still solo students around hour 15-20. We offer fixed program prices so we can be transparent about what you are paying for from the get-go. This also allows our instructors have a consistent workload with students who have agreed to 3-4 lessons per week, a win-win situation.

Accelerated Private Pilot

People with no experience, little experience or even a lot of hours from 20 years ago can benefit from this program. The Accelerated Private Pilot Program starts with placing a deposit and securing dates for the training. The student pilot then completes an online ground program that we supply and go to take the FAA Written Test at a testing center. We recommend setting time aside each day for at least a month to study for the FAA Written. Once the basic ground work is completed, we fly with you everyday to knock out your requirements and solidify the knowledge from the ground program and prepare you for the checkride. This program also includes a Complete Private Pilot Kit (bag, study materials, E6B, logbook, FAR AIM, ACS and much more). If for any reason you do not finish in the 14 day timeframe, we work with you to complete the program at no additional cost.

Pay As You Go Private Pilot

This option is great for those who maybe don't know how much time they will have in Alaska, already have hours logged, or can't finance or pay for a program upfront. We help student pilots in this program with at-home ground study so they can try to keep costs down. Paying per hour allows you to control how much you spend in a month. We highly suggest staying consistent with your training so that you hold retention best. Studies show that students only flying 1-2 times a week, or less, end up being a higher hour private pilot. Let's start flying!
